Zee TV’s Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan is set to highlight the emotional and psychological impact of bullying and ragging through Soni’s (Vaaishnavi Prajapati) college journey.

Starring Amandeep Sidhu as Sneha and Sheizaan Khan as Siddhu in lead roles, the show has previously explored social issues including the pressure for a male heir, women pursuing their ambitions and female resilience.

In the upcoming track, Soni, known for her fearless personality, becomes a victim of relentless bullying at college. The storyline explores how humiliation and harassment can affect even those who appear strong and confident.

Vaaishnavi Prajapati, who plays Soni, said reading the script was an emotional experience for her. She said she had never personally faced ragging as most of her education was conducted online, but the storyline made her realize how deeply such experiences can affect students.

The actress said harmless fun among friends was different from ragging that humiliated or traumatized someone, adding that such behavior was unacceptable.

Prajapati also recalled filming a sequence in which Soni’s clothes are torn, saying the scene was particularly difficult because it made her think about how heartbreaking such an incident would be in real life.

She said she initially wondered why Soni, who is portrayed as a strong girl, did not fight back. However, while performing the scenes, she understood the emotional impact of sustained bullying and how it can leave a person unable to respond.

The upcoming episodes will take the storyline further as Shivani, the student accused of bullying Soni, turns the situation around and makes it seem as though Soni was the one who harassed her.

As Shivani’s version is believed by the college, Soni faces the possibility of expulsion and is asked to call her family to the college. With no one else to turn to, she seeks help from Sneha.

The track will explore whether Sneha and Soni’s family will support her and uncover the truth or whether Shivani’s manipulation will put Soni’s future at risk.

Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan airs daily at 9 pm on Zee TV.
