Mumbai, September 24
Zee TV has introduced its ‘Zee TV Ladies Special’ initiative during Ganesh Chaturthi, setting up a women-only washroom near Parel Cha Raja in Mumbai to provide access to a dedicated and hygienic facility during the festivities.
The facility is available from September 14 to 24, coinciding with the period when large numbers of devotees visit Lord Ganesha pandals across the city. The initiative seeks to address the limited availability of clean and accessible washrooms for women during large public celebrations.
Zee TV said the initiative aims to provide women with a convenient facility while drawing attention to sanitation, comfort and dignity in public spaces. The channel said women often had to plan outings around washroom availability or depend on commercial establishments for access to clean facilities.
Several female artistes associated with Zee TV have also visited the facility and supported the campaign, helping highlight the message around women’s hygiene and access to public sanitation.
Mangesh Kulkarni, Chief Channel Officer, Zee TV, said the initiative reflected the channel’s broader commitment to women and its effort to address everyday gaps that could affect their participation in public life.
He said the campaign sought to encourage a culture where women’s needs were considered while creating and using public spaces.
The ‘Zee TV Ladies Special’ initiative combines an on-ground sanitation facility with an awareness campaign, highlighting women’s access to hygiene and public facilities during Mumbai’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
