Panchkula, June 18
The Haryana Police have enhanced security for three club owners in Panchkula after they allegedly received threatening voice notes warning of future attacks. Personal Security Officers (PSOs) have been assigned to the club operators following the threats.
The police have also provided security to BJP leader Narinder Lubana, the husband of a former councillor, after he allegedly received threats from the Rohit Godara gang. According to officials, an additional PSO has been assigned to him as a precautionary measure.
Speaking on the matter, DCP Crime Amarinder Singh said the security arrangements were made following recent threats directed at the families of targeted individuals as well as several club operators in the city.
The development comes days after Narinder Lubana’s brother, Ratan Lubana, was seriously injured in a shooting incident in Sector 5. Police said the attack was allegedly carried out by associates of gangster Rohit Godara. Following the shooting, members of the Lubana family reportedly received threatening calls and messages.
DCP Crime Amarinder Singh said police had taken adequate steps to ensure the safety of those under threat.
“After the firing incident involving Ratan Lubana in Sector 5, threatening calls were received by members of the family. We have taken sufficient measures, registered family members on Haryana Police’s Abhay App, and provided security cover,” he said.
The officer added that additional security arrangements have been put in place in Sector 5, which houses several clubs. A SWAT team has been deployed in the area to strengthen surveillance and response capabilities.
He further stated that residents and business operators should not panic due to threat calls, and that police are advising individuals on precautionary measures to prevent a repeat of previous incidents.
“Security personnel have been deployed in Sectors 5 and 9. Necessary steps have been taken to ensure public safety,” Singh said.
Police are continuing their investigation into the threats and are monitoring the situation closely.
