Poster shows actor with cigarette, lighter and rugged avatar

The makers released Vicky Kaushal’s first look from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War on social media, showing the actor in a rugged avatar. The period romantic drama stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Kaushal and was scheduled for worldwide release on January 21, 2027.

The poster shows Kaushal holding a silver lighter, with a cigarette resting between his lips. Smoke covered part of his face as he stared directly at the camera. He sported a thick moustache, a visible scar on his forehead, a gold ring and a dark collared shirt.

The makers shared the poster with the caption, “Nazre milengi, lekin hatengi nahin!” and reiterated the film’s January 21, 2027 release date.

The poster drew mixed reactions on social media. While some users questioned the look and speculated about his character, Instagram users largely praised Kaushal’s appearance. His father, Shyam Kaushal, also expressed his appreciation in a comment.

The makers had earlier released first looks of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Ranbir’s poster showed him behind the wheel of a vintage car, wearing a white T-shirt and glasses, with a bruised and bloodied hand on the steering wheel.

Details of the plot remained under wraps. Reports suggested that the film was set against a wartime backdrop, with Ranbir and Vicky reportedly playing Indian Air Force officers and Alia’s character forming part of the central relationship.
