SGPC delegation to meet SSP over investigation
Patiala, September 24
Two separate incidents of alleged desecration of Gutka Sahib were reported at two different locations in Patiala on Wednesday, prompting an SGPC delegation led by interim committee member Surjit Singh Garhi to seek further action from the Police Department, as no accused had been identified so far.
Speaking at a press conference at Dukhniwaran Sahib, Garhi said the second incident took place near the residence of MLA Ajit Pal Singh Kohli, where the office of the DIG, Patiala Range, is also located.
The Police Department had registered a case in connection with the incidents, but the accused had not been identified, Garhi said.
A delegation led by Garhi was scheduled to meet the Patiala SSP again on Thursday to seek further action into the same.
