Dharamshala, May 8

A comprehensive traffic and security plan has been prepared for the upcoming IPL matches scheduled on May 11, 14, 17, and 26 at the International Cricket Stadium in Dharamshala. Authorities have designated parking areas and implemented special measures to manage traffic congestion during the matches.

Additional District Magistrate Kangra Shilpi Bekta said law and order, along with traffic management, remain key concerns during major sporting events. To assist spectators, posters and signage will be installed across the city to guide visitors and reduce inconvenience at entry and exit points to the stadium.

Officials said a three- to four-layer security system will be in place, with visitors screened and guided at different checkpoints. Around 1,000 personnel from the police, Home Guards, and SDRF will be deployed at the stadium and across the city during the matches.

Three magistrates have also been appointed specifically to oversee traffic arrangements. Authorities said congestion is usually observed on the Chilgari and Dari roads near the stadium, and additional police have been placed on standby to handle any situation.

Drone flying will remain prohibited during the matches. Officials said anyone intending to operate a drone must obtain prior permission from the administration.
