Event to focus on fitness, community participation, social awareness
Chandigarh, September 30
The SMILE Walkathon 2026 will be held at the Capitol Complex in Sector 1, Chandigarh, on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, with a focus on fitness, healthy living, a drug-free society, social responsibility and dignity for senior citizens, according to the organisers.
Organised by SMILE (Society for Music, Innovative Literature & Entertainment), Chandigarh, the event will feature 3-km and 5-km walks and bring together participants across age groups.
The organisers said the walkathon was also aimed at supporting the proposed SMILE Home of Dignity for needy and vulnerable senior citizens. The programme will include yoga, zumba, strength competitions, karaoke and musical performances, besides a free health and heart check-up camp by Fortis Hospital, Mohali.
Padma Shri Syed Kirmani is listed as the special guest.
