Actor says humour comes naturally to her and she prefers staying true to herself
Chandigarh: Shehnaaz Gill says she prefers to remain true to herself rather than let trolls, rumours or public opinion dictate how she talks, walks or behaves.
Speaking about her sense of humour, the actor said it comes naturally to her. “Khoon Punjabi hai na, to comedy karti nahin hun main, comedy lagti hun,” she said, explaining that she does not consciously try to be funny.
Shehnaaz also recalled two people independently comparing her with Shraddha Kapoor at an airport. According to her, they felt both actors stayed true to themselves while remaining connected to their language and roots.
She also spoke about her equation with the media, saying she feels a special connection with Punjabi media while appreciating the affection she receives from Hindi media as well.
For Shehnaaz, the most meaningful part remains when people tell her they relate to or draw inspiration from her journey.
