Kullu, May 30
A seven-day Ram Katha organized by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan commenced at the Dhalpur Rath Ground in Kullu on Friday, drawing devotees from across the region. The religious event will continue until June 5, featuring daily evening discourses and special community feasts for attendees.
The celebrations began with a grand Kalash Yatra from the historic Lord Raghunath Temple to Dhalpur Ground. Hundreds of women and devotees participated in the procession, chanting devotional hymns and bhajans as it passed through the town. Residents also joined the yatra, reflecting the strong spiritual enthusiasm surrounding the event.
Maheshwar Singh, Chhari Bardar of Lord Raghunath, said the Ram Katha is being held with the blessings of local deities and has generated immense excitement among devotees. He noted that people will have the opportunity to participate in the spiritual discourse every evening during the week-long programme.
Swami Dheeranand stated that extensive preparations had been made ahead of the event, including Prabhat Pheris and sacred processions in different areas. He added that devotees from Kullu district and neighbouring regions are expected to attend the Ram Katha in large numbers throughout its duration.
