Roshibina bags wushu silver, seals medal hat-trick

Won bronze in 2018 followed by silver in 2022 and 2026; Satnam Singh-Salman Khan win rowing bronze

India added two medals to its Asian Games tally on Day 6, with Roshibina Devi winning silver in the women’s 60-kg wushu event and Satnam Singh and Salman Khan securing bronze in the men’s doubles sculls on Thursday.

Roshibina Devi faced China’s Zhang Xiaoyu in the women’s 60-kg final. She fought hard in the final but was unable to overcome the Chinese competitor and had to settle for the silver medal.

The silver was Roshibina’s third successive Asian Games medal. She had won bronze at the 2018 Asian Games and silver at the 2022 Hangzhou Games.

India’s second medal of the day came in rowing, where Satnam Singh and Salman Khan won bronze in the men’s doubles sculls final.

Shooting, however, proved disappointing for India on Day 6. The country did not finish on the podium in the 10-metre pistol competition, while no Indian shooter qualified for the individual event in the discipline.

There was some positive news in skeet shooting, with India’s mixed team qualifying for the final. The mixed skeet final is scheduled for 11:15 am, according to the sources.

In athletics, India’s mixed 4×400-m relay team also advanced to the final after qualifying from its event. The final is scheduled for 6:45 pm.
