Patiala, May 6
A political row has erupted in Punjab following explosions reported in Amritsar and earlier in Jalandhar, after Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann alleged the involvement of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the incidents. Reacting to the Chief Minister’s statement, Shiromani Akali Dal’s chief spokesperson Arshdeep Kaler on Wednesday called for a thorough investigation by a credible central agency. He said the Chief Minister’s allegations are serious, particularly as they target a party in power at the Center.
Kaler stressed that the people of Punjab are seeking a stable law-and-order situation and expressed concern over the repeated blasts in the border state. He added that if the Chief Minister’s claims are found to be baseless, the Center should take appropriate action against him.
Highlighting Punjab’s sensitive geographical position, Kaler said that such incidents raise significant questions about the state’s security preparedness and governance.
