Punjab Cabinet Ministers on Tuesday extended warm greetings to the people of Punjab on the auspicious occasion of the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, calling upon citizens to live by his timeless teachings of equality, compassion, and service. In a joint statement, Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema, Aman Arora, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Sanjeev Arora, Dr. Balbir Singh, Lal Chand, Laljit Singh Bhullar, Harjot Singh Bains, Harbhajan Singh, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, Dr. Ravjot Singh, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Hardeep Singh Mundian, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, and Mohinder Bhagat said that the sacred occasion — to be observed on November 5, 2025 — serves as a reminder of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s eternal and universal teachings.

The ministers emphasised that Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s principles of ‘Naam Japo’ (meditate on God’s name), ‘Kirat Karo’ (earn an honest living), and ‘Vand Chakko’ (share with others) are the foundation of a just and harmonious society. “Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message of one God, equality, and selfless service continues to guide humanity. His philosophy of ‘Sarbat Da Bhala’ — welfare for all — is more relevant today than ever before,” the statement read.

They urged people to uphold the spirit of ‘Langar’ and ‘Sewa’, which form the core of Sikhism, by helping the underprivileged and working towards the collective good.

On this occasion, the ministers prayed for peace, prosperity, and good health for all citizens, expressing hope that the sacred day would inspire efforts to build a society rooted in brotherhood and inclusivity.

Meanwhile, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan also extended warm greetings to the people of Punjab on the auspicious occasion of the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. In his message, Sandhwan said that the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji — rooted in compassion, unity, equality, and selfless service — continue to inspire humanity across generations.

“Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message of ‘Ik Onkar’ promotes harmony, peace, and kindness among all human beings,” the Speaker said. He added that Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s life serves as a guiding light, teaching people to live with humility and compassion.

“Guru Sahib taught us that we are all children of the same God. We should follow the path shown by Him and practice kindness and equality in our lives,” Sandhwan said.
