Election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishore has announced that he will officially launch his new political party, Jan Suraaj, on October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, according to media reports. Addressing the Jan Suraaj Abhiyan gathering at Bapu Sabhaghar in Patna, Kishore revealed that the party would start with over one lakh office bearers, laying its foundation stone ahead of the 2025 Bihar assembly elections. Kishore emphasized that he will not lead the party; instead, leaders will be elected from their respective assembly constituencies. He expressed confidence in winning the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. In a significant boost to the campaign, former Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur’s granddaughter Dr. Jagriti, independent Buxar candidate Anand Mishra, and Professor Rambali Singh Chandravanshi joined the Jan Suraaj campaign, praising Kishore’s development goals for the state, the Business Standard reported.
A press release from Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) stated that a series of state-level meetings are being organized to prepare for the party’s formation, leadership selection, and constitution drafting. The first meeting, involving district and block-level officials, will be held in Patna on July 28, followed by a youth officials’ meeting on August 4, the report said.
