Shimla, August 3
The Monsoon Session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly will commence on August 21, with the opposition BJP preparing to aggressively corner the Congress government over a range of public issues.
Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Monday said the BJP would strongly raise matters concerning the people in the House and hold the government accountable during the session.
Alleging that the pace of development in the state has come to a standstill over the past three and a half years, Thakur said the opposition would seek answers from the government on several issues of public importance.
He said the BJP plans to raise alleged corruption, the growing menace of drug abuse, the law and order situation, the poor condition of roads, the state of healthcare institutions, and key issues related to schools during the session.
With the opposition adopting an aggressive stance, the Monsoon Session is expected to witness sharp debates and heated exchanges between the treasury benches and the opposition over governance and public welfare issues.
