Olympic spirit to shine at hockey stadium 42 as Chandigarh hosts special celebration

Chandigarh, June 22

Chandigarh’s sporting community is set to celebrate International Olympic Day with a special programme at Hockey Stadium, Sector 42, on Tuesday evening, bringing together athletes, coaches, sports officials and enthusiasts to promote the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect.

Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh will attend the event as the Chief Guest. H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh, and Dr. Sagarpreet Hooda, IPS, DGP, UT Chandigarh, will be present as Guests of Honour.

The event, scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm, is being organised by Hockey Chandigarh and will be hosted by its President Karan Gilhotra along with Vice President Anil Vohra and other members of the association.

Karan Gilhotra said the celebration aims to encourage young people to take up sports and fitness while creating greater awareness about the Olympic movement.

A large gathering of players, students, and sports lovers is expected at the venue as Chandigarh joins the global celebration of International Olympic Day and the values it embodies.
