Nurpur, June 3
In a major anti-drug operation, Nurpur Police arrested four youths and recovered 4.24 grams of chitta (heroin) during a checkpoint operation near Chakki Bridge in Kandwal on Wednesday morning. Police also seized the Alto car, allegedly being used for drug trafficking.
According to police officials, the operation was conducted around 7:25 AM as part of an ongoing campaign against narcotics. During vehicle checking at the Chakki Bridge checkpoint, a black Alto car bearing registration number HP-73A-1965 was stopped for inspection.
During the search, police recovered 4.24 grams of chitta from the vehicle. The four occupants of the car were immediately taken into custody.
The accused have been identified as Darvesh Nath of Chukrasa, Kamlesh Kumar of Kariyan, Nitin Singh of Gurar, and Vikas Kumar of Kariyan, all residents of Chamba district.
Police have registered FIR No. 137/2026 at Nurpur Police Station under Sections 21, 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act. The recovered narcotic substance and the vehicle have been seized, while further investigation is underway to trace possible links to drug trafficking networks.
