Two senior women employees of Lamrin Tech Skills University on Thursday levelled allegations of workplace harassment, intimidation and pressure over admission and degree-related procedures against senior university officials, days after a police inquiry was ordered into their complaints.

The allegations were made at a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club, where the complainants also played an alleged obscene audio recording before the media and sought an independent investigation into their claims.

The women alleged that they were pressured to “help” in matters relating to alleged fake admissions and purported fraudulent degrees. They claimed that after questioning procedures related to admissions, examinations and the PhD programme, and objecting to the alleged involvement of external persons, they faced retaliatory action.

One of the complainants alleged that she was repeatedly asked to give a statement against Vice-Chancellor Arvinder Singh Chawla but refused, describing the allegations as false or fabricated. She claimed that she subsequently faced increased pressure and that her office and belongings were shifted without her consent.

She also alleged inappropriate conduct by the Vice-Chancellor and described herself as an alleged victim of molestation.

The complainants named Vice-Chancellor Arvinder Singh Chawla, Pro-Vice-Chancellor B.S. Satyal,  and others. 

The allegations come against the backdrop of an inquiry ordered by Special DGP (Community Affairs and Women Affairs) Gurpreet Deo into a complaint submitted by a former and a serving faculty member of the university.

AIG Vatsala Gupta was assigned to examine allegations of workplace harassment, gender discrimination, retaliation and denial of employment-related rights.

One of the complainants had earlier alleged that after raising concerns over regulatory compliance of the PhD programme, she was removed from a senior position in December 2025 and shifted to the School of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Education with reduced responsibilities.

She further alleged that on July 15, 2026, she was suspended on the charge, her salary was reduced to 50 percent, and she was offered a lower position.

The complainants on Thursday alleged that despite the inquiry being ordered, they had not received the relief they sought and demanded a transparent, impartial investigation into the matter.

Advocate Sunil Mallan, who was present at the press conference, said the allegations should be examined through an impartial inquiry. He said the alleged audio recording, documents and other evidence should also be examined to establish the facts. 

Pro-Vice-Chancellor B.S. Satyal, while talking to the media, had earlier denied the allegations, describing them as false. He said the university had removed some officials over corruption charges and that an FIR had also been registered. Satyal alleged that those removed had hatched a conspiracy against the university administration. The university officials were not available for comment.
