Kullu, August 3
The quarterly meeting of the Kullu Zila Parishad was held at the District Parishad Bhawan in Dhalpur, where members highlighted key issues affecting their respective constituencies, with a special focus on deteriorating rural roads, drinking water supply, and irrigation facilities.
The meeting was chaired by Zila Parishad Chairman Thakar Das and attended by officials from various government departments. Parishad members raised concerns about the poor condition of rural roads and urged authorities to improve drinking water and irrigation schemes at the earliest.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman Thakar Das said officials were asked to respond to the issues raised by members. He added that representatives of most departments assured the Parishad that the identified problems would be addressed within a month, offering hope for improved infrastructure and basic services in rural areas.
Zila Parishad member Anil Rana, representing the Larakelo ward, said the irrigation scheme in the Kharahal Valley has remained affected for the past two years due to damaged pipelines and the absence of a power transformer required to operate the system. Department officials assured that these issues would be resolved within 15 days.
