Chandigarh, June 15
The makers of the much-awaited Punjabi film Ishqnama are set to unveil the official teaser on June 15, 2026, at 12 noon at Novotel Hotel, Chandigarh. The event will feature lead actors Jayy Randhawa, Shehnaaz Gill, Saurabh Sachdeva, Anjum Batra, Nirmal Nimma and Dheeraj Rattan, along with acclaimed filmmaker Arvinder Singh Khaira.
Presented as A True Story of True Lovers, Ishqnama is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 24, 2026. Inspired by the bestselling novel Hind Pak Bordernama, the autobiographical romantic drama explores themes of love, separation, sacrifice and hope beyond borders.
Based on the real-life experiences of Nirmal Nimma, the film tells the story of two individuals united by destiny but separated by circumstances. Set against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan border, the narrative highlights the enduring strength of love despite distance, politics, and societal challenges.
The journey of Ishqnama began in 2022 when actor Jayy Randhawa acquired the rights to Hind Pak Bordernama. Director Arvinder Singh Khaira later joined the project, bringing his signature visual storytelling style to the film. The cast was further strengthened with the addition of Shehnaaz Gill, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Anjum Batra.
Producer Sourabh Rana came on board after learning about the film’s vision and emotional depth, helping bring the ambitious project to life. The movie has been shot across several locations, including Mandawa, Sri Ganganagar, Amritsar, Shahzadpur, Ropar, Sirhind, and Mohali.
Adding to the anticipation, the film’s music has been composed by the celebrated duo Jaani and B Praak. The makers describe Ishqnama as a heartfelt celebration of human emotions, resilience, and the belief that true love knows no boundaries.
