The Kangra district administration has completed all preparations for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), scheduled to be held on 21 June at 12 examination centers across the district.

Officials said necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure the examination is conducted peacefully and smoothly. Security and administrative measures have been put in place to avoid any inconvenience to candidates appearing for the medical entrance examination.

Meanwhile, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) in Dharamshala has announced a special initiative to support NEET aspirants by providing free bus travel.

According to the decision, candidates appearing for the NEET examination will be able to travel in HRTC buses without paying any fare from 20 June to 22 June.

HRTC Dharamshala Regional Manager (RM) Sahil Kapoor said the facility was being provided in accordance with instructions received from the HRTC headquarters in Shimla.

“Free travel facility will be available for candidates appearing in the NEET examination. Necessary instructions have been issued to all bus stand in-charges in Kangra district,” Kapoor said.

He added that special bus services would also be operated if required, keeping students’ convenience in mind. The initiative is expected to provide significant relief to candidates travelling from remote areas to appear for the examination.
