HPBOSE Chairman refutes JP Nadda’s claim of Himachal board paper leak

Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) Chairman Dr. Rajesh Sharma on Thursday rejected BJP national president J.P. Nadda’s allegation that question papers of the Himachal Pradesh Board examinations had been leaked, calling the claim “baseless” and “factually incorrect.”

Addressing a press conference at the Board headquarters, Dr. Sharma said there had been no question paper leak in any HPBOSE examination and urged BJP leaders not to spread misleading information among the public. He said education is a sensitive sector and should not be dragged into political controversies for electoral gains.

Referring to the alleged NEET question paper leak, Dr. Sharma said the issue had triggered widespread anger among students and parents across the country. He alleged that students protesting over the matter, along with Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, had faced strict action while raising concerns in the interest of students.

He demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the NEET paper leak case and called for strict action against those found guilty. He also sought the resignation of the Union Education Minister on moral grounds.

Commenting on recruitment-related controversies during the previous BJP government, Dr. Sharma said allegations of irregularities had surfaced in connection with the Hamirpur Staff Selection Commission. He said the present state government, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, had dissolved the commission and introduced a new system to ensure transparent and smooth functioning.

Clarifying reports regarding fake certificates issued by an open school outside Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Sharma said the institution had been recognized by the Himachal Pradesh Board between 2017 and 2019. However, he added that it currently has no administrative or academic association with the Board.
