If The Great Khali in a wrestling ring was intimidating, The Great Khali in a pink polka-dot onesie is the plot twist nobody had on their 2026 bingo card.
The man who once made WWE opponents look pocket-sized is now serving finger hearts, pink aesthetics and serious K-drama fan energy. The wrestling giant whose stare could end an argument is embracing his soft side. Apparently, it comes dressed in pink.
Netflix India has given the former WWE superstar an unexpected makeover as part of its Korean-content campaign, tagged “K-paglu with a capital K”. In campaign images, Khali lounges in a pink bedroom, flips through a scrapbook, eats noodles and makes Korean finger hearts. In one frame, he wipes away tears while watching the K-drama “When Life Gives You Tangerines”.
One minute, Khali is the wrestler who could make a grown man reconsider his career choices. The next, he is posing in pink and throwing finger hearts like he is one emotional confession away from saying, “Saranghae!”
Picture him watching a K-drama. The lead couple confesses after 14 episodes of misunderstandings, dramatic silences and suspiciously timed rain. Khali is invested. The tissues are out. The pink onesie stays on.
And if the hero breaks the heroine’s heart? Forget the soundtrack. The villain might want to check whether Khali is available for a guest appearance.
Behind the laughs is a smart marketing move. Take a personality audiences associate with one thing, flip the script and let the Internet do the rest.
Khali’s larger-than-life wrestling persona colliding with Korean romance makes for content that is unexpected, meme-worthy and difficult to scroll past. It taps into India’s love for Korean entertainment, where fans sign up for dreamy leads, slow-burn romances and storylines requiring unreasonable patience.
Netflix didn’t need to put Khali back in the ring to grab attention. A pink outfit, finger hearts and a scrapbook full of Korean drama references did the trick.
Born Dalip Singh Rana in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur district, Khali became an international wrestling sensation after joining WWE in 2006. He won the World Heavyweight Championship in 2007 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.
His image has long been synonymous with size, strength and an intimidating presence, making this avatar even more entertaining. Apparently, you can look like you could lift a car and still root for two fictional people to get together.
Is Khali team green flag or red flag? Does he skip to the finale or suffer through every episode? Does he fall for the second lead and spend three episodes recovering from heartbreak?
When the couple finally gets together after 16 episodes, does Khali celebrate with finger hearts or demand a sequel?
We may never know. But Netflix has its campaign moment, the Internet has its plot twist and Khali has a pink onesie nobody saw coming.
Turns out, the biggest drama might just be Khali’s wardrobe.
