Governor Kavinder Gupta on Wednesday visited the Government Primary School Gujreda in Kangra district and reviewed the state of education in rural areas. He interacted with students, teachers, and education department officials to assess academic conditions and infrastructure needs.
During the visit, the Governor took stock of the school’s learning environment, basic facilities, and challenges faced by students and staff in remote regions. He also interacted with students and encouraged them to pursue education with dedication and confidence.
The Governor said children are the future of the nation and stressed the need to further strengthen educational infrastructure in rural and remote areas. He said overcoming geographical challenges and ensuring quality education for every child should remain a top priority. He also highlighted the importance of improved classrooms, sanitation facilities, digital learning tools, and a supportive academic environment in government schools.
Referring to recent data from the Ministry of Education, the Governor said Himachal Pradesh has shown notable progress in education, securing sixth position in the country and third among states in the Performance Grading Index 2.0 and PGI-D 2024-25.
He also discussed the concept of strategic school grouping with officials to better utilize resources and manpower. He said such initiatives can help improve educational quality, enhance learning opportunities, and increase administrative efficiency.
The Governor said education plays a key role in building a progressive society and urged teachers to continue their work with dedication and commitment. He also appreciated the efforts of teachers serving in difficult and remote areas.
Senior officials of the education department and district administration were present during the visit.
