Chandigarh, August 30

National Award-winning filmmaker Ojaswwee Sharma has recorded a special promotional feature for the ‘Gems of India Challenge’, an initiative of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting aimed at giving local content creators a platform to showcase India’s diverse culture, heritage and talent.

Sharma, a Chandigarh resident whose work has brought recognition to the city, has participated in promoting the initiative through a special feature on Prasar Bharati’s WAVES OTT platform.

The campaign is also being promoted through All India Radio 107.2 FM, Chandigarh, where local content creators are being invited to participate in the challenge.

Under the initiative, participants are required to create and submit short videos of one to three minutes. The entries can highlight Chandigarh’s local culture, heritage, art, traditions and local talent through creative presentations.

The initiative seeks to identify impactful local stories and creative content from across the country. Selected entries will receive an opportunity to reach a wider audience through Prasar Bharati’s WAVES OTT platform.

For the pilot phase, interested content creators from Chandigarh can submit their entries by 31 August 2026.

The challenge is expected to provide an opportunity for young and emerging creators to present their creative work while highlighting the distinctive cultural identity of Chandigarh on a national platform.

The initiative places emphasis on locally produced content and aims to encourage creators to document and present regional culture through short-form digital storytelling.

With Chandigarh creators being specifically invited through the All India Radio promotion, the campaign offers an avenue for local artists, storytellers and digital content creators to present the city’s heritage and contemporary talent to audiences beyond the region.

Sharma’s promotional feature is part of the outreach for the initiative and is intended to encourage Chandigarh-based creators to participate before the pilot-phase submission deadline.
