Panchkula, June 6
The Panchkula Police have arrested four accused within hours of the murder of a youth in Pinjore, officials said on Friday. Addressing a press conference, DCP Crime Amarinder Singh said the victim, Jitesh Manocha, was allegedly attacked by four men over an old rivalry. The accused reportedly assaulted him with sticks and rods, causing severe head injuries that led to his death.
According to police, the incident stemmed from a dispute that took place about a month ago between the victim and one of the accused, Khushdeep. The preliminary investigations revealed that Khushdeep had earlier lodged a complaint with the police that he had been assaulted by Jitesh Manocha and his father.
After the attack, the accused fled the scene while the injured victim was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police immediately formed two teams comprising officers from the Pinjore Police Station and the Detective Staff to track down the suspects. Within three hours of the murder, all four accused were arrested.The accused have been identified as Khushdeep, Manpreet Singh, Rohit Mehta, and Manish Chaudhary.
DCP Amarinder Singh said initial investigations point to personal enmity as the motive behind the murder. However, police are examining all aspects of the case, and further investigation is underway.
