Farmers in Punjab will hold a one-day protest today, blocking roads in Sangrur, Moga, Phagwara, and Batala to press the state government on demands for timely paddy procurement and other grievances. “We will begin our road blockades at these four points starting at 1 p.m. on October 26,” Surjeet Singh Phul, Chairman of the Bhartiya Kisan Union (Krantikari) Punjab told the media. Phul added that similar actions may follow if the government does not address their concerns.
