Visitors and employees face inconvenience as non-functional and inadequate water coolers raise concerns over basic facilities at the municipal council building.
Zirakpur, August 19
The multi-story building of Zirakpur Municipal Council, considered amongst the wealthiest Municipal Councils in Punjab, is facing questions over the availability of drinking water for visitors and employees.
The building houses the offices of Municipal Council President Gurpreet Virk, Executive Officer Parvinder Singh Bhatti, and SP Gazalpreet. Hundreds of people visit the premises daily to get their work done, but the building reportedly lacks a proper drinking water facility.
A water cooler has been installed at one location, but it has reportedly remained non-functional for a long time. Water coolers have also been placed on different floors, but they often run out of water.
The lack of a basic facility like drinking water in such a large Municipal Council building has raised concerns over arrangements for both visitors and the employees.
Municipal Council President Gurpreet Virk said proper drinking water arrangements will be made soon, and a new water cooler will also be installed.
