Kullu, August 3

Devotees are thronging Shiva temples across Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district during the holy month of Shravan, offering prayers, performing jalabhishek, and participating in bhajan-kirtan dedicated to Lord Shiva.

On the Mondays of Shravan, a large number of devotees visited prominent temples including Bhootnath Temple, Bijli Mahadev Temple, and Maha Kaleshwar Temple, where they performed rituals with holy water and prayed for blessings. Several temples in the district are also hosting Shiva Mahapuran recitations, while devotees have organized community food services.

At Sarvari headquarters in Kullu, devotees reached the Bhootnath Temple to perform jalabhishek and seek blessings as per their wishes. Similarly, Bijli Mahadev Temple and other Shiva shrines witnessed a significant footfall of devotees praising Lord Shiva and observing fasts during the auspicious month.

Devotee Kaushalya Thakur, who visited Bhootnath Temple, said she comes every year during Shravan to offer prayers. She added that bhajan-kirtan and Shiva Mahapuran Katha are also being organized, providing spiritual experiences to devotees.

She said Lord Shiva is known as “Bholenath” and is pleased with even a small act of devotion. She added that devotees are praying for world peace and the welfare of all.
