Nurpur, July 27

Himachal Pradesh Congress President Vinay Kumar on Monday said the party has stepped up preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections and will soon constitute a new state executive committee to strengthen the organization from the state level down to the booth level.

Addressing mediapersons during his visit to Nurpur, Kumar said the Congress is actively working to reinforce its organizational structure at the state, district and block levels. He said the formation of the new executive committee would further strengthen the party and improve coordination among workers ahead of the elections.

The state Congress chief said party workers would launch a statewide outreach campaign to inform people about what he termed the Center’s anti-people policies. He alleged that the Central Government has adopted a discriminatory approach towards Himachal Pradesh, affecting the state’s development and financial interests.

Kumar said the Congress would take these issues to the people and create awareness about the challenges being faced by the state due to the Center’s policies.

Emphasising organisational strengthening, he said responsibilities are being assigned to workers at every level to ensure the party enters the Assembly elections with a united and robust structure. He added that the Congress is focusing on expanding its presence at the grassroots level, particularly at polling booths.

Expressing confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, Kumar claimed that the people of Himachal Pradesh are disappointed with the BJP’s policies and would support the Congress in the next Assembly elections.

He also asserted that the Congress would return to power in the state, stating that the party has consistently raised public issues and would continue working for the welfare of the people. Kumar urged party workers to remain united and take the Congress’ policies, programs and achievements to every household across the state.
