Congress leaders visit 10 Kangra villages to boost booth outreach during training camp

Congress leaders taking part in an ongoing organisational training camp at Gupt Ganga carried out extensive field visits in Kangra district on the fourth day of the programme, reaching out to 10 villages to understand grassroots political dynamics and local concerns.

The exercise, aimed at strengthening the party’s organisational structure, included participation from district Congress presidents of three states along with other camp members. During the visits, leaders interacted directly with residents to assess booth-level realities and gather feedback on pressing local issues.

A key focus of the outreach was the growing concern over drug abuse in rural areas, with leaders seeking public views on its impact on youth and society. Discussions also touched upon Himachal Pradesh’s cultural heritage, traditional fairs, and the socio-cultural fabric of village life.

The delegation also met women’s groups during the visit to understand their concerns and developmental needs. Issues related to social welfare and community infrastructure were raised during these interactions.

Leaders involved in the exercise said the experience underlined the importance of direct engagement with people at the grassroots level to better understand political and developmental challenges. They added that effective policy formulation and planning require close awareness of local needs and realities.

Party workers were also urged to strengthen organisational outreach by actively communicating the party’s policies and ideology at the village level and by enhancing booth-level mobilisation efforts.
