Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday paid floral tributes to the state’s first Chief Minister and architect of Himachal Pradesh, Dr.Yashwant Singh Parmar, on the occasion of his 120th birth anniversary at the historic Ridge Maidan in Shimla.
The Chief Minister was joined by members of the state Cabinet, Congress leaders and party workers, who offered floral tributes at Dr Parmar’s statue to commemorate his legacy and contribution to the state.
Addressing the gathering, Sukhu said Dr Parmar played a historic and unparalleled role in the formation and preservation of Himachal Pradesh. He said the state observes Dr Parmar’s birth anniversary every year with great respect and that the occasion would also be marked with tributes in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
The Chief Minister said Dr Parmar’s vision and ideals continue to inspire generations, and added that working to develop Himachal Pradesh and the welfare of its people, in accordance with the path shown by the former Chief Minister, would be the most meaningful tribute to his legacy.
