Nayab Singh Saini says Congress faces ‘turmoil’ across country
Patiala: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday said the Congress was facing “a lot of turmoil” across the country amid discussion over a possible change in its leadership. Speaking in the Panjola village area of Sanour in Patiala, Saini said Congress leaders were not united and claimed the party had failed to fulfil promises made to people.
“There is a lot of turmoil within the Congress. Nobody is happy with anyone,” Saini said while commenting on the reported leadership change.He further alleged that people had rejected the Congress and that the party had not fulfilled its promises. Saini claimed the differences were not confined to Punjab and that the Congress was facing similar controversy across the country.
Asked about former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s reported grievances concerning his party, Saini referred to him as a senior leader. “He is our leader, our senior leader,” Saini said.
Saini was in the Patiala area when he made the remarks. His comments came amid political discussions within the Congress over its leadership in Punjab.
