Class III pensioners to get full arrears under revised Himachal order

Class I and II pensioners to get additional 15 per cent with September pension

The Himachal Pradesh Government has ordered full payment of the remaining pension arrears to Class III employees who retired between January 1, 2016, and January 31, 2022, while Class I and Class II pensioners will get an additional 15 per cent of their total arrears.

The Finance Department issued the revised order on September 23, replacing its earlier order of September 21.

Under the revised order, Class III pensioners will receive 100 per cent of their remaining arrears, against 30 per cent provided for in the earlier order. With this payment, their arrears will be treated as fully settled, according to the order.

For Class I and Class II pensioners, an additional 15 per cent of the total arrears will be released, over and above the arrears already paid to them.

The additional amount will be paid along with the September 2026 pension, which is scheduled to be credited to the pensioners’ accounts in October, according to the order.

The government has directed that the four instalments of Interim Relief and 12 instalments of Dearness Relief already paid to pensioners be deducted from the total arrears. The pensioners will receive the resulting net amount.

Any excess payment already made to a pensioner will also be adjusted against the arrears payable, the order states.

The memorandum issued on September 21 has been cancelled following the revised order.

All banks and Pension Disbursing Authorities (PDAs) have been directed to ensure timely release of the payments.
