On World Environment Day, the BJP Kisan Morcha Manali Mandal organized a tree-planting drive at Nature Park, Babeli, in the Manali Assembly constituency on Friday, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable development. The program saw the participation of BJP Kisan Morcha office-bearers and workers, who planted saplings and raised awareness about the need to protect and preserve the environment. The event was attended by Manali Mandal Kisan Morcha President Sushil Thakur, General Secretary Shiv Chand Thakur, and several party workers.
Addressing the media after the plantation drive, Sushil Thakur said World Environment Day, observed annually on June 5, serves as an important reminder of the collective responsibility to safeguard natural resources and promote ecological balance.
He stated that the plantation campaign at Nature Park, Babeli, aimed to encourage people to participate actively in environmental protection efforts. Thakur emphasized that planting trees is one of the most effective ways to combat environmental degradation and maintain a healthy ecosystem.
Appealing to the public to contribute towards a greener future, he urged citizens to plant more trees and adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives. He further announced that the BJP Kisan Morcha plans to organize large-scale plantation drives in the coming months and extend similar awareness programs to different parts of the Manali Mandal.
The initiative highlighted the growing emphasis on community participation in environmental conservation and the role of tree plantation in addressing climate and ecological challenges.
