The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Himachal Pradesh has launched a major organisational overhaul as it intensifies preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections. State BJP President Rajeev Bindal announced that working committees across all 17 organisational districts will be finalised within two days. In addition, executive committees will be established in all 171 mandals, with 874 office bearers to be appointed and trained for grassroots-level mobilisation.
Speaking at a press conference in Shimla, Bindal said the BJP now has 1.8 million members in the state and described the party’s structure as “strong and impenetrable.” He said the training of new office bearers will begin shortly, with the full list of frontal organisations to be released by the end of the month. As part of its outreach, the BJP will run the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign from August 13 to 15. On Independence Day, a “Tiranga Yatra” will be conducted across all mandals. August 14 will be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day to raise awareness about the 1947 partition.
Additionally, starting from Raksha Bandhan, the BJP will initiate a tree plantation drive in the name of mothers, with 11 trees planted at each booth across the state. Bindal also took aim at the ruling Congress party, claiming it has lacked an effective booth-level structure over the past year. He asserted that unlike the Congress, the BJP has a robust grassroots organisation that is already working towards a return to power in 2027.
