Himachal Pradesh BJP President Rajeev Bindal has accused the ruling Congress Party of “stealing votes” in the 2022 state elections, alleging that it came to power through false promises and deception. Bindal described the Congress as the “real vote thief,” claiming it misled the people with assurances of government jobs, financial aid to women, and support for farmers and employees. “Congress looted the people’s votes through lies and deceit and has now exposed itself by shouting slogans against vote theft,” Bindal said.

He recalled that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had promised one lakh government jobs and five lakh employment opportunities immediately after assuming power. “They said these would be approved in the first cabinet meeting, thereby deceiving Himachal’s unemployed youth,” he alleged.

The BJP leader further accused the Congress of betraying women by failing to fulfil its commitment of providing a ₹1,500 monthly allowance to 2.8 million women in the state. “Not a single person has received a permanent, pensionable job even after three years in power,” he said.

Bindal alleged that the Congress also misled government employees, farmers, and orchard owners, continuing to “rob them of their rights” after forming the government. “By shouting slogans about vote theft, they have, in fact, accused themselves,” he said.

Challenging the ruling party, Bindal said if Congress leaders truly believe the Election Commission was impartial, they should accept that they came to power fairly. “Otherwise, if they claim the Commission was biased in 2022, they should step down,” he added.
