Bhumi Pednekar, Abhishek Malhan step up relief efforts in Assam

Actor Bhumi Pednekar has joined relief efforts in flood-hit Assam, working with teams on the ground as several villages remain accessible only by boat, even as floodwaters have receded in some areas.

In a post shared by the BDRF Official, the organisation thanked Pednekar for joining the relief mission and supporting affected communities directly. “A heartfelt thank you to @bhumipednekar ma’am for joining us on the ground and standing with the people of Assam,” it said. The organisation also thanked those supporting the mission, adding, “Together, we’re reaching more families, every single day.”

Meanwhile, YouTuber and digital creator Abhishek Malhan, popularly known as Fukra Insaan, has also extended relief support to flood-affected communities in the state. During his visit to Simalguri, Malhan shared a “Groundwork report” on Instagram, documenting the distribution of mattresses, gas stoves, water purifiers and standing fans. He also announced plans to rebuild seven houses and repair three battery rickshaws.

Seeking assistance from fellow creators, Malhan wrote, “Shoutout to all the influencers who came out to support Assam in this situation. Will be needing your help in the next 2 days.” Reflecting on the situation, he wrote, “Being in Assam and witnessing everything that’s happened here made me realize one thing: if you have a roof over your head, food on your table twice a day, and your family by your side, you already have more than you think. Be grateful.”

Malhan rose to prominence through YouTube entertainment videos and challenges before gaining wider recognition through Bigg Boss OTT 2. On Instagram, he describes himself as an “Artist” and identifies with his “Panda Gang”. In an Assam-related reel, he also asked, “Why are we so privileged and still not grateful?” Their participation highlights how public figures are using their platforms to support communities affected by natural disasters.
