Carmel Convent Scouts Join ‘Share a Pad, Share Dignity’ Campaign

Bharat Scouts and Guides of Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Yuvsatta, participated in the “Share a Pad, Share Dignity” campaign aimed at promoting menstrual dignity, continuity of education, empathy and responsible citizenship.

As part of the initiative, members of Bharat Scouts and Guides visited PM SHRI Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sector 18-C, Chandigarh, where they distributed 115 packets of sanitary napkins among high school students.

The youth-led campaign provided the participating Scouts and Guides with an opportunity to put into practice values of empathy, compassion, social responsibility and Gandhian constructive action. The initiative highlighted how small acts of support and kindness can contribute to meaningful changes in the lives of others.

The visit was described as an enriching experience for the students of Carmel Convent School. The campaign also sought to strengthen values such as “Service Before Self”, dignity, equality and responsible citizenship among the participating students.

According to the school, initiatives of this nature help young people understand social concerns while encouraging them to contribute constructively to the community. The campaign also aligned with Sustainable Development Goals related to health, quality education, gender equality and partnerships.

The initiative was organised as part of efforts to create greater awareness around menstrual dignity and ensure that young people view access to menstrual hygiene and continued education as matters of social responsibility.

Carmel Convent School said it remains committed to continuing such initiatives in the future and inspiring the younger generation to become responsible, sensitive and compassionate members of society.
