Army team reaches Keylong on 1,200-km cycling expedition

Army personnel engage students and youth on fitness, discipline and career opportunities in armed forces

Personnel of the Indian Army’s 26 Punjab Unit reached Keylong as part of a 1,200-km cycling expedition from Ambala Cantonment to Keylong and onward to Jalandhar, engaging students and local youth on fitness, discipline and career opportunities in the armed forces.

Led by Team Leader Captain Aneesh M and Deputy Team Leader Subedar Kulwant Mann, the expedition included outreach programmes with school students, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and youth at various locations along the route.

During their stay in the region, the Army personnel interacted with students at Government Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Palchan, PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School, Pandoh, and PM SHRI Government Senior Secondary School, Chauntra. They also held interactions with youth in Keylong and Kullu.

The personnel briefed students about the role of the Indian Army, discipline, national service and career opportunities in the armed forces. They also explained eligibility criteria, recruitment procedures and different entry schemes for joining the Army.

Interactive question-and-answer sessions were held to address students’ queries about recruitment and career prospects. Students who actively participated and answered questions correctly were also presented with gifts.

The Army team shared its experiences with the youth and encouraged them to remain physically fit, follow discipline and stay prepared to serve the nation.

The expedition aims to connect with youth along its route while creating awareness about the Indian Army, recruitment opportunities and the values of discipline, fitness and national service.
