Kullu, May 15
Political campaigning intensified in Kullu on the final day of canvassing for the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for May 17. Candidates and political workers made last-minute efforts to reach voters before the campaign period ended on Friday afternoon.
In Ward No. 4 of the Kullu Municipal Council, BJP leaders organized a rally in support of the party-backed candidate, Gyan Thakur, and conducted door-to-door campaigning to seek public support.
Amit Sood and Danavendra Singh were among the senior BJP leaders present during the campaign.
Amit Sood said the BJP had fielded candidates who understand public issues and claimed that party-supported candidates were receiving strong support from voters across urban local bodies. He appealed to residents to vote for BJP-backed candidates to strengthen civic administration and address public concerns effectively.
Danavendra Singh said Gyan Thakur was chosen after discussions with local residents and had been actively campaigning across the ward. He added that several development works were completed during Thakur’s earlier tenure, and efforts would continue to resolve pending civic issues in coordination with the administration.
Local resident Pyar Chand Verma said residents had earlier received timely solutions to local problems and expressed confidence that Gyan Thakur would continue working for the ward’s welfare if elected.
