PSDM signs MoU with Baba Farid University to address healthcare sector demands: Aman Arora

The Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) has partnered with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) to bolster healthcare training for the state’s youth. The collaboration aims to train at least 200 candidates annually and establish a Centre of Excellence at the Health Skill Development Centre in Faridkot.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday by PSDM Mission Director Amrit Singh and BFUHS Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajeev Sood. Punjab’s Minister for Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, Aman Arora, and Principal Secretary Jaspreet Talwar were present at the event.

Arora highlighted that the program will provide certifications in specialized areas such as Home Health Aide, Operating Theatre Technician, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, General Duty Assistant, and more. He emphasized creating avenues for wage and self-employment, urging youth to consider entrepreneurial ventures to generate jobs and ensure sustainable livelihoods.

Amrit Singh assured that PSDM would support the initiative with funding, guidance, and candidate mobilization, while BFUHS will oversee the training and placement process. “This partnership reflects our commitment to empowering Punjab’s youth and strengthening the healthcare sector,” she said.
