Blending the warmth of Bollywood melodies with the soulful depth of Sufi music and a touch of Punjabi flavour, ‘Mashallah’ brings different musical worlds together in one composition. Released by T-Series on its official YouTube channel, the track takes listeners on a musical journey that gradually unfolds from a feel-good, Hindi-Punjabi sound into a more intricate, Sufi-inspired arrangement. But behind the composition lies a story of creative experimentation, unexpected opportunities and years of perseverance.
For singer Yuvan, ‘Mashallah’ was originally created for a film. His journey, however, took an interesting turn, when he visited the T-Series office to present several compositions in his own musical style. Looking for something distinctive, the label’s team was particularly drawn to a Sufi-inspired track when Yuvan played ‘Mashallah’. The composition instantly struck a chord, eventually becoming the first release of their association.

Even the title went through its own creative journey. While writing with co-writer Arry, the duo considered different expressions, including ‘Tauba Tauba’, before settling on ‘Mashallah’ for its simplicity, beauty and universal appeal.
Talking to The North News, Yuvan, says, “I believe music has no age or generational boundaries. For me, a good composition is timeless and can connect with listeners regardless of when they were born.” On the Punjabi influence in the song, Yuvan explains, “Punjabi comes naturally from my roots. Although the track initially leaned towards Hindi, incorporating a dedicated Punjabi section added an emotional depth to the song that could not have been expressed in quite the same way in another language, I feel.”
Yuvan’s musical journey stretches back nearly 10–12 years. It began during his school days, when he performed with a band at clubs in Chandigarh. He subsequently taught himself music production through YouTube, spent years working behind the scenes and eventually stepped forward as an artist.
For Yuvan, singing is both a passion and a way of expressing life’s experiences through relatable stories. Talking about his work process, Yuvan says, “my studio process involves striving for perfection in melodies, lyrics, vocals and production. I work closely with my team, including producers Fugo and Ted, and I believe in collective creativity and giving everyone the freedom to contribute.”
With originality at the centre of his musical philosophy, Yuvan prefers following his creative instincts rather than chasing industry trends. His ambitions extend to collaborations with global names such as The Weeknd, Drake and Travis Scott, alongside Indian artists Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh and Karan Aujla.
From Chandigarh’s club stages to a release with T-Series, Yuvan’s journey is a reminder that behind every musical breakthrough lie years of unseen effort, sacrifices and an unwavering belief in one’s own sound.
