Police gather crucial leads in shooting case
Amritsar: Punjabi social media influencer and makeup artist Mad Sandhu, whose real name was Madhusudan, died after being shot at by two unidentified motorcycle-borne men on Loharka Road in Amritsar on Saturday evening, police said.
The attackers opened fire at Sandhu around 6 pm and fled the spot on their motorcycle, according to police. Several rounds were fired during the incident, officials said.
Sandhu was taken to a hospital for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries, police said.
According to preliminary police information, the incident occurred when Sandhu went to collect his car from a shop where it had been sent for washing.
Police have launched an investigation to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the shooting.
A senior police official said investigators had gathered some significant leads and were confident of arresting the culprits soon. The official said the accused would face exemplary punishment. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting and pursuing the case from multiple angles.
Sandhu was known for his work as a makeup artist and his social media presence. He created digital content and podcasts covering makeup, fashion, and gender-related issues.
His Instagram account, @its_madsandhuofficial, had around 2.26 lakh followers. He had also appeared in the Punjabi film Oye Bhole Oye.
