Party national gen secy (organisation) BL Santosh chairs 2-day meeting in Panchkula; leaders discuss grassroots expansion and outreach
Panchkula: The Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue its two-day organisational meeting at Red Bishop in Sector 1 here on Thursday, with senior leaders reviewing the party’s Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra, grassroots organisation and preparations for the forthcoming Assembly elections.
BJP national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh will chair the meeting.
Addressing the meeting on Thursday, Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon said the party reviewed the response to its drug-free Punjab campaign and discussed ways to expand its reach. He described the campaign as successful and said people, particularly mothers and women affected by drug abuse in their families, had supported the initiative.
Referring to the party’s 4,000-km journey across Punjab, Dhillon alleged that the state government had failed to curb drug abuse. He said people remained concerned about the issue and claimed that the BJP could make Punjab drug-free.
Senior party leaders, district presidents, district incharges and co-incharges, district-level office-bearers, former MLAs and other functionaries attended the meeting.
The discussions focused on strengthening the party organisation at the grassroots level, improving coordination with workers and expanding outreach across districts. Leaders also reviewed organisational activities and discussed ways to communicate the policies and achievements of the BJP-led Union Government to people in Punjab.
On Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring’s reported resignation, Dhillon alleged that the Congress was embroiled in a tussle over the Chief Minister’s post. He said the BJP did not face a similar situation and that its workers remained focused on organisational activities.
