Punjabi singer Kaka makes Bollywood playback debut

The singer lends his voice to first song from Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan-starrer “Udta Teer”

Punjabi singer Kaka has made his Bollywood playback debut with ‘Bhootni Ka’, the first song from the upcoming Hindi film “Udta Teer”, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan.

Released on Tuesday, the song features vocals by Kaka, Twinkle Aggrwal and Amitabh Bhattacharya. The track has been composed by Sachin-Jigar, while Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned the lyrics. The credits were confirmed by Sikhya Entertainment, one of the film’s production houses, in its official release post.

‘Bhootni Ka’ is a fast-paced, quirky track that keeps changing pace and rhythm, matching the unusual and comic world of “Udta Teer”. The song features Khurrana, Ali Khan and members of the film’s ensemble cast, including Rahul Bose, Mukul Dev, Gulshan Grover and Ram Kapoor.

Speaking about his debut, Kaka said the lyrics immediately made him curious about the story behind the song. He said the energetic and unusual sound of the track made him wonder what exactly was happening in the film. He added that watching the teaser only increased his curiosity about the characters and their situations.

“Lyrics sunke mujhe story jaanne ki bohot curiosity hui,” Kaka said, describing his reaction to the song’s lyrics and sound. He added that even after recording the song and watching the teaser, he was still eager to discover the story behind the characters and situations.

“Udta Teer” is written and directed by Aakash Kaushik and presented by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain. Its cast includes Raghubir Yadav, Brijendra Kala, Gulshan Grover, Suhail Nayyar, Rahul Bose, Mukul Dev, Ram Kapoor and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 9, 2026.
