AICC Vichar Vibhag chairperson targets BJP-RSS, praises state government and outlines party outreach ahead of Assembly polls

AICC Vichar Vibhag chairperson Capt Praveen Davar has claimed that the Congress would return to power in Himachal Pradesh in the 2027 Assembly elections, saying the assertion reflects what he described as the people’s opinion.

Addressing the media in Shimla on Monday, Captain Davar said the Congress government had worked for all sections of society and claimed that there were no corruption allegations against it so far. He highlighted the government’s initiatives for farmers and livestock owners and praised the Sukh Ashray scheme.

Captain Davar said meetings would be organised across almost all districts of Himachal Pradesh ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. He said the Vichar Vibhag would focus on taking the Congress’s ideology and history to the public, particularly the younger generation.

The Congress leader also criticised the BJP and RSS, describing their ideology as “anti-national”. He said the Congress would inform people about what he termed the RSS’s “anti-national history”.

On the issue of alleged “vote theft”, Davar termed it the “biggest dishonesty” and accused the BJP-led Centre of taking decisions since 2014 that, according to him, undermined democracy.

Captain Davar further alleged that the BJP wanted to establish an authoritarian system in the country and did not believe in democracy.

His remarks come ahead of the 2027 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, as political parties step up organisational and public outreach activities in the state.
