Heavy debris blocks village footpath; water flow in Sundru Khad restored
Rohru, September 28
A heavy landslide near Jangalikh village in the Chhohara development block of Shimla district on Monday sent a large quantity of debris into the Sundru Khad, blocking the pedestrian route leading to the village.
The debris also briefly affected water flow in the khad. However, officials said the water flow has now returned to normal.
The district administration has sent the Tehsildar of Chirgaon to the spot to assess the situation and monitor the area.
Sharing details, Rohru SDM Dharmesh Ramotra said debris had temporarily obstructed water flow in the Sundru Khad, but the flow has since been restored. He clarified that a lake could not form in the khad and said the administration was closely monitoring the situation at the site.
