Patiala, August 12
A husband and wife were injured in an alleged pitbull attack in Patiala’s Ghumman Nagar, with both currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.
The couple had gone to Ghumman Nagar to view a house for rent yesterday evening when the pitbull allegedly attacked them soon after they entered the property, according to the injured woman’s husband, Ankit Sabharwal.
Sabharwal said the dog knocked both of them to the ground and attempted to attack their necks. He said the situation could have turned fatal had people in the vicinity not reached the spot and intervened.
He said his wife sustained serious injuries to her arm and underwent surgery. She is currently under observation and being monitored by doctors at the hospital.
Sabharwal also suffered multiple injuries to his legs and back and is receiving treatment.
Seeking justice from the police and civil administration, Sabharwal demanded strict action against the dog’s owner. He said such action was necessary to prevent similar attacks on others in the future.
