20-year-old young man killed, 19-year-old seriously injured in Panchkula road accident

A 20-year-old young man was killed and another seriously injured in a road accident near Chandimandir Toll in Panchkula on Wednesday, police said.

The two were travelling on a motorcycle when it suddenly collided with a divider near the toll plaza. Following the impact, one of the riders fell onto the road and was run over by a passing bus. He died at the spot.

The second rider, identified as 19-year-old Neeraj Kumar, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula, for treatment. He is reportedly a student.

The deceased has been identified as Monu. Both men are reportedly residents of Tipra, Kalka, and were travelling to Panchkula on the motorcycle for some work.

Following the accident, a crowd gathered at the spot and passers-by informed the police. A police team reached the location and shifted the injured man to the hospital.

Police took the deceased’s body into custody and began an investigation into the accident. Officials are examining the circumstances leading to the collision and collecting further information about the incident.

The police are also verifying the identities and other details of those involved in the accident.
