Shimla, August 8

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday organized a Tiranga Yatra in Shimla ahead of Independence Day, with Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, BJP MP Suresh Kashyap and a large number of party workers participating in the march.

The yatra began from CTO Chowk and passed through Sher-e-Punjab and Mall Road before concluding at the Mahatma Gandhi statue at the Ridge.

Carrying the national flag, BJP workers raised slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” highlighting the message of patriotism and national unity.

Jai Ram Thakur said there was a need to strengthen respect for the Tricolor and remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters.

He said the BJP was organizing Tiranga Yatras across the country at district headquarters and assembly constituency levels following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call.

Thakur appealed to people to hoist the national flag at their homes as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.

Suresh Kashyap said the nationwide Tiranga Yatras aimed to promote patriotism and strengthen the spirit of national unity.

He said the Tricolor symbolizes India’s unity, integrity and pride, adding that hoisting it at every home would be a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country.

The leaders also urged people to participate actively in Independence Day celebrations and demonstrate their respect for the nation.
